We start this week with a tip from the solo project of Phil Plested, part of Chasing Grace who in the past few years have given us some truly gorgeous music. Plested is now working independently and has delivered this delightful new offering ‘Habits’ to widespread acclaim.

Having previously written music for the likes of Emeli Sande, Plested’s ability to craft songs is proudly showcased through this latest track. Its minimalistic production includes minor strings and an understated hazy but raw sounding guitar is something that clearly breathes influence from Chris Isaak.

There’s a lot of passion and soul in the track, but the vocals are unquestionably the real standout element with Plested’s soothing and smooth sound creating an incredible mix.

With an EP in the works you can expect to hear plenty more from Plested very soon.
