The nights are getting lighter, festival season is nigh, and Strong Asian Mothers’ are back with new EP, Animal. The London synth-pop trio were keen to produce “danceable music”, and they’ve succeeded in creating a proper summer anthem.

A little more poppy and radio friendly than previous releases, ‘Animal’ is a bouncy, sunny, electro filled track. A world away from some of their more hip-hop inspired tunes, this is peppered with experimental sounds, from cans of pop opening, and cards being shuffled, to elephant shrieks.

For something that started off as a jam in the studio, they may well have written the soundtrack to your summer.  Tipped to be playing this year’s Glastonbury festival, you won’t regret stumbling across their stage.

Words by Louise Henry
