DEAD CEREMONY

Today’s tip is a haunting shattered voyage into the minds of Kent four-piece Dead Ceremony, with their new track ‘Seventeen’.

From the get go the band set the mood, pleading to relieve the strain of a relationship, stating it’s hard to breathe. The track’s hazey echo sounds a bit like Hurts but those comparisons are dismissed with a jittery chorus sample of Asian mashed up electronics. Finding great down-tempo electronic music isn’t too difficult but the group make sure to give themselves a unique spin on that with profound electronic switch-ups.

The band has got a busy spring schedule coming up with the release of a new song ‘Tell Me Lies’ imminent. After this are set to release another track ‘Magic’ at the end of February in the build up to their debut EP which will be released around April time.

If you’re in and around London or Brighton you can also catch the band live. They play The Hope & Ruin in Brighton this weekend and also have a February date at The Forum in Tunbridge Wells playing on the same bill as Isaac from Slaves.
