‘You Didn’t Need My Love’, the new single from Londoner Ánders is a delectable mashup of folk, indie and electronica that pleases the listener in plenty of ways. Gentle, warm synthesisers and tasteful guitar melodies keep the song restrained, with a subtle yet deeply layered crescendo towards the end.

It’s not just the production, however, that makes this track stand out, but the vocals too. Ánders voice has a crystal clear timbre that sits upon the music perfectly, making the track something which could happily jump onto daytime radio. But therein lies that old paradox; with a song as interesting and personal as this, you don’t really want anybody else to hear it, and that (IMO!!) is what makes a truly good songwriter.
