Azekel‘s ‘Circa EP’ demonstrated his talents as a producer and vocalist, but his latest track demonstrates a far rawer, more stripped back sound. ‘New Romance’ hinges on a series of delicately balanced contrasts; his soft falsetto vs a shuffled raw lead synth, the almost-Garage percussion vs the occasional trumpet fanfare, and the deep bass that gives way to those acoustic piano chords.

Vocally, the East Londoner is equally dynamic, effortlessly varying his tone and delivery throughout. ‘New Romance’ is released 1st July via Thunderlightning Recordings/Generator and can be pre-ordered here, expect big things from Azekel this Summer.
