FTSE

UK Producer FTSE has been one to keep a tab or two on for quite some time now. Not necessarily to keep his questionable spelling in check but after some sublime mix-tape releases, this Midlands’ lad’s supreme talent has been steadily coming to the boil. ‘SIRVYVIN’ is the first taster track of FTSE – aka Sam Marshalls’, solo work as he embarks on the eagerly awaited run-up to his debut release sometime later this year. It’s one beast of a teaser showcasing a full range of his abilities not just as a producer, but a vocal artist and master of the sample.

There is plenty of punch to the track, with a slow burn of impressively sultry instrumentals which take you to a hypnotically pleasing result on the slowest of soulful rides. This track shows more than the promise that previous demos like ‘Shaddahs II’ and ‘Game Girl’ displayed. This is a producer ready to drop straight into the play pen with the likes of John J Presley and The Knox. What a way to start 2013.
